What is a “Look?”
Looks are either wardrobe or lighting changes. Minor changes such as adding or removing a jacket, glasses, etc. do not count as a new look. Click here for more about “Looks.”

Is Makeup Mandatory?

Using our professional makeup artist is strongly encouraged for women as makeup for photography is materially different than makeup for general, daily use.  We want you looking your absolute best and having someone make the necessary hair, and makeup adjustments as we are shooting improves the final results markedly.  We do not recommend any makeup for men. If you prefer, you may use a makeup artist of your choosing rather than ours.  Any makeup artist you select is welcome to assist with touch-ups and adjustments during the shoot.

What Forms of Payment are Accepted?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American and Express.  Please note: We do not accept checks. The balance of your sessions is due on the day of our shoot.

After the shoot, what happens?

NYC Headshot uploads your pre-screened proofs to our private online proofing site where you can select the images you wish to have retouched.  All basic retouching is $55 per image. Enhanced retouching is also available at $75 per image. For all images that you wish to have printed, we work with our local NYC partner, ColorWorks, who have an array of printing services for your selected the headshot(s).

Deposit Policy
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date and time with our studio.  If you need to change the date or time of your shoot, we ask that you provide us 14 days notice or your deposit will be forfeited.

Studio Policies
Should NYC Headshot not be able to provide the photography services on the schedule date and time, the client may reschedule the photography session at a future date or terminate the agreement with a refund of any deposit paid. If the client needs to reschedule the photography session with less than 14 days until the scheduled shoot, the balance for the shoot will be due as a non-refundable retainer for any future date. If the client needs to reschedule a second time within 14 days of the scheduled shoot, a 25% additional re-scheduling fee will be applied to secure your new time and date. If the client needs to cancel the photography session, the client is required to do so through our online scheduling system which will produce a cancellation confirmation from NYC Headshot, LLC.  All cancellations must be made within 14 days of the scheduled shoot to avoid penalties.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations with less than 14 days of the session date will incur a 50% fee for the canceled session.  Cancellations that are more than 14 days from the scheduled session will have deposits fully refunded.

We are so confident in our work and your satisfaction that we guarantee our results and your satisfaction. If you are not absolutely in love with what we have done for you, we will either reschedule another session on a different day or refund your money.
